At Mid-West Family Broadcasting of Springfield Illinois, we follow a 9-step system to help your business build a radio advertising campaign that helps you focus your marketing efforts, allows you to measure your results and brings you a return on your investment.
Step One: Suspecting
We cannot just assume that radio is right for everyone. Therefore we start our process by learning as much about your business category as possible before we start communicating with you. The suspecting process requires us to do research to determine if other businesses in that category have ever used radio, learn what their typical marketing and advertising practices are, and decide if we would be able to make an impact in that category in this marketplace.
Step Two: Prospecting
After we've suspected your business category and decided that you
have the potential to benefit from radio advertising, we take the next
step, prospecting. In prospecting we begin by sending you seeding articles,
which are articles we have found in the suspecting step that focus on
your business category and it's relationship to marketing and advertising.
We will also send you articles regarding our practices in the area of
marketing and advertising. This is all done prior to ever meeting with
you. The goal is to give you the opportunity to see if you're interested
in the idea of working with radio.
Typically we will send 3 seeding articles before we attempt to make
face-to-face contact with you.
Step Three: Open the Call Introduction
Now that we have done our homework and begun seeding you, the next step is to meet you. When we meet with you for the first time, our goal is to see if you've received our seeding articles, and ask you a very important question...
"Has anyone ever shown you a systematic way to get measurable advertising results?"
You would be amazed how many business owners never have been shown how to get measurable results from their advertising! Many media people will even tell you that it is not possible. Not Mid-West Family Broadcasting. If you are interested in the learning more about our system, we set an appointment with you at your convenience within the next business week.
Step Four: I.T.M. and The Business Profile
The next step we take has two parts. First we walk you through our system and determine if you are interested in utilizing it within your business, if the timing is right to start building a radio advertising campaign for your business, and if you have enough available funds to make it work. If both sides are in agreement, then we move to the second part, conduct a Mid-West Family Broadcasting Business Profile.
The Business Profile is where we begin asking questions to probe into the deep corners of your business. Scary? To some, but rest assured that when we do this, we follow the same "Client Privilege" practices that doctors, lawyers and clergy follow. The answers to these questions allow us to build your specific radio advertising campaign that will focus your marketing efforts, be measurable (only if you answer all our questions) and bring you a return on your investment.
Step Five: "A" Build the Campaign
It's time to roll up our sleeves and build the campaign. How do we do this? The Mid-West Family Broadcasting System is actually based on the principles of some of today's most respected marketing minds, including Jim Doyle, Seth Godin, Chuck Mefford, Al Ries, Jon Spoelstra, Jack Trout and Roy Williams, all of whom have written best selling books that we have studied and use diligently. Plus, we have our very own Creative Services Department whose primary job is to build radio advertising campaigns. We follow a team methodology where your station representative brings together the Creative Department and a station manager to review the Business Profile and brainstorm the campaign.
We don't leave the room until we have developed a campaign that helps focus your marketing efforts, allows you to measure your results and brings you a return on your investment.
Step Five: "B" Lay Out the Campaign
After the campaign has been developed, we put it to paper so that we can present to you how the system will work for your business! NOT SPOT PACKAGES!
Step Six: Present YOU Your Campaign
Now it's time to roll out your campaign to you! First we review the campaign and how it is drawn from your current situation, which we learned about in The Mid-West Family Broadcasting Business Profile. Then we share with you which marketing and advertising principles will work best for your business based on your current situation. After this, we present your unique radio advertising campaign including the commercial and the recommended flight schedule which is based on the marketing and advertising principles we discussed.
Step Seven: R.O.I. Analysis to Set Your Expectations
Now that we have shared with you the commercial and schedule (and you have agreed to purchase the campaign), we need to help set your expectations for this campaign. We do this by reviewing the Return-On-Investment Formula specifically for your business to see if the numbers are realistic in terms of your business world. We also review the "Chickening Out Period" if it is a branding campaign.
If we are in total agreement that the campaign is right and that it can be measured through a reasonable R.O.I., we then move forward and get your campaign on the air in a timely fashion
Step Eight: Agree on Terms and Sign Contracts
The paperwork factor. We complete all the necessary documents including credit application, terms of the contract and with all applicable signatures by both sides.
Step Nine: Evaluations every 3-6 months & "WOW" Customer Service
When you begin the campaign, you should never intend for it to end. But it can evolve over time, which is why we will stay in contact with you a minimum of 2 times per month unless you would prefer to see us more or less. Every 3 to 6 months we will review the Business Profile to see if anything has changed, and do a major Time-Out Call at least once per year to see where you are at and how we are doing.
