Sundays from 10p-Mid, WQLZ is the host for Springfield’s original and local music. Springfield has long been a hot-bed for up and coming musicians, so WQLZ decided to spotlight our local stars. - LOCALLY INVOLVED…
WQLZ is also very involved in the local community. Most recently, WQLZ and affiliated stations helped raise over $57,000 for the Red Cross Tornado Relief effort. This year’s Stuff-A-Truck campaign was one of the most productive raising nearly 20,000 pounds of food and other goods for the local food bank. In 2003, WQLZ was awarded with the title of “Food Drive of The Year” for the efforts in this promotion. WQLZ has recently teamed up with Habitat for Humanity sponsoring the “Rock House”, constructed with support from WQLZ listeners and volunteers. WQLZ, the area’s dominant rock station, sponsors many local charities and events each year with the help of staff and listener support.
